Family owned and operate since 1937
At Austral Brass Foundry we pride ourselves in multigenerational dedication to the improvement of sand-casting techniques. The company was originally founded in 1937 by Herbert Boyle on Elizabeth Street, Surry Hills where it became part of the rich tapestry of the industrial growth in Sydney. After over two decades, Edward Boyle took on the business from his father and relocated to George Street, Redfern. The business continued to thrive on larger premises with a larger staff. In keeping with the dedication to craft, Trevor Boyle worked for his father and again expanded operations in 1979 in Sefton, where new industrial grounds were being broken in New South Wales.
In 2013 Trevor Boyle retired, and in lieu of dismantling the foundry, passed on operations and the name to Mohsen Mahali who had by then worked with him for 8 years. Mohsen immigrated to Australia in 2006 and had previously worked alongside his own father in finely detailed sand-casting for 25 years. In keeping with their shared history, Mohsen went on to uphold 76 years of industry experience and re-established the newest incarnation of Austral Brass Foundry in Milperra. Today, he and his business partner and wife, Simin run the foundry with a focus on catering to high-quality mining, shipping, manufacturing, and artistic casting needs of their clients.
